More than 300 youths across Sussex County are expected at the second annual Anti-Drug Youth Conference on Thursday, February 26, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, part of the Sussex Action Prevention Coalition of Kent Sussex Community Services.

With the goal of promoting healthy living to strengthen wellness within the student community, the Anti-Drug Youth Conference offers prevention workshops addressing cultural competency, bullying, suicide and substance abuse in a fun, music-filled environment.

The conference is free and open to youths between 12 and 25. Local schools will be participating through the Fill-A-Bus campaign, filling a bus of students and advisors from organizations such as YELL, SADD, KBG and Above the Influence to bring to the potentially life changing conference.

Continental breakfast will be followed by guest speakers, breakout sessions and lunch. Vendor displays will be available throughout the conference, as well as raffles with great giveaways.

The Anti-Drug Youth Conference will be Thursday, February 26, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, 229 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.

For more information or to register for the conference, contact Dupree Johnson at (302) 535-1969 or djohnson@kscs.org.

Funding for this project (SP15607) has been provided by Delaware Health and Social Services’ Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health through a grant from the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
