I think we’ve forgotten that just as children in school learn from the simplest to the more complex, we must do the same. Sadly, some refuse to learn and “…need someone to teach them again the first principles to the oracles of God…” Sometimes we must build upon previous knowledge and other times we must replace that knowledge altogether.
For example, do children stay in first grade forever learning the same lessons over and over? No. They leave behind “childish things.” This is what all must do! Jesus tells us, you have heard that it was said an eye for an eye…but, I say to you…love your enemies. Thus, the instruction matches our level of maturity.
When He trained His disciples, He told them once not to take anything for the journey. Yet at another time, He told them to secure certain things for the journey. The instructions were, are and will be specific to the lessons and the seasons. And, these two points remain in effect: the need to trust in Him and our need to develop self-awareness. This is how we gain wisdom and understanding!
The lessons harmonize with the predetermined courses that we’ve selected. Each designed to aid us in meeting our individual commitment. And, they require actions that fit both the training and the times. God determines the timing. That means that we can’t learn a lesson unless we’re been prepared for it. Whereas one person is guided through a season of embrace, another person is guided to let go. Yet, willingness is required.
The notion that everyone must do the same thing does not reflect how God forms us. With an agenda relative to our role, we’re called to follow it and choose wisely, James warns us, “you desire but do not have so you kill, you covet, you cannot get what you want so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.” But sometimes we ask amiss and get in trouble!
Such is the case with the Israelites in the wilderness. God feeds them manna, but they covet meat. Recalling their lives in Egypt, they want to go back. They insist and are given meat! Before they chew it, they are struck with a very great plague!
Likewise, some people today obsess about the past. They hold twisted opinions and aspire to grandeur. Professing to believe; they show little care about others and less about God’s instruction. They are unskilled in the word of righteousness. They refuse Him who speaks from heaven!
Consequently, they cannot lead because they require milk again, like babes. “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Take note. God gives us food in due season, and He calls us to maturity. Let us answer the call for the good of all!

Creo que hemos olvidado que, así como los niños en la escuela aprenden de lo más simple a lo más complejo, debemos hacer lo mismo. Lamentablemente, algunos se niegan a aprender y “…tiene necesidad de que se les enseñe de nuevo los primeros rudimentos de las palabras de Dios…“ A veces construimos sobre conocimiento previo y a veces debemos reemplazar ese conocimiento por completo.
Por ejemplo, ¿se queda un(a) niño(a) en primer grado para siempre aprendiendo las mismas lecciones una y otra vez? No. Dejan atrás “las cosas infantiles.” ¡Es lo que todos debemos hacer! Jesús nos dice, has escuchado decir que…pero, yo te digo… ama a tus enemigos…, etc. Así la instrucción coincide con el nivel de nuestra madurez.
Cuando Jesús entrenó a sus discípulos, les dijo una vez que no llevaran nada para el viaje. Sin embargo, en otra ocasión les dijo que se aseguraran de tener ciertos artículos para el viaje. Las instrucciones siempre fueron, son y serán específicas para las lecciones y las estaciones de la vida. Y estos dos puntos siguen vigentes: la necesidad de confiar en Él y nuestra necesidad de desarrollar la autoconciencia. ¡Así se obtiene la sabiduría y el entendimiento!
Las lecciones armonizan con los cursos predeterminados que hemos seleccionado. Cada uno diseñado para ayudarnos a cumplir con nuestro compromiso individual. Y, requieren acciones que se ajusten tanto al entrenamiento como a los tiempos. Dios determina el momento oportuno. Eso significa que no podemos aprender una lección a menos que nos haya preparado para ella. Hay a quienes se les guía a través de una temporada donde abrazan lo que tiene, mientras que a otros se les guía a través de una temporada donde sueltan lo que tiene. Sin embargo, se requiere voluntad.
La idea de que todos debemos hacer lo mismo no expresa la manera en que Dios nos forma. Con una agenda relacionada a nuestro papel, nos llama a seguirla y a elegir sabiamente, Santiago nos advierte: “ Maniobras, y no tienes; matas y ardes de envidia, y no puedes alcanzar; combates y luchas, pero no tienes lo que quieres porque no pides a Dios.” ¡Pero a veces pedimos mal y nos meternos en problemas!
Tal es el caso de los israelitas en el desierto. Dios les da de comer maná, pero codician la carne. Recuerdan sus vidas en Egipto, quieren volver. ¡Insisten y les dan carne! ¡Antes de masticarla, una plaga muy grande los sacude!
Así mismo, hay personas hoy que están obsesionadas con el pasado. Tienen opiniones retorcidas y aspiran a la grandeza. Dicen creer, pero demuestran que no les preocupan los demás y mucho menos las instrucciones de Dios. ¡Son inexpertso en la palabra de justicia! ¡Niegan a Aquel que habla desde el cielo!
Consecuentemente, no pueden ser líderes pues requieren leche de nuevo como los bebés. “Pero el alimento solido es para los que han alcanzado madurez, para los que por el uso tienen los sentidos ejercitados para discernir tanto el bien como el mal.” Toma nota. Dios nos da alimento a su debido tiempo y nos llama a la madurez. ¡Respondamos el llamado por el bienestar de todos!
