Wilmington, DE — Beginning February 1 and continuing through April 15, AARP Foundation is providing free tax assistance and preparation through its Tax-Aide program. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service. Since its inception, the program has served more than 50 million taxpayers.

”This valuable service is available to many Delawareans who would not otherwise be able to get help with their taxes,” said Lucretia Young, AARP State Director. “It is our mission to make life better for people over the age of 50. Tax Aide certainly contributes to better financial health and more enjoyment in life.”

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers are trained and IRS-certified each year to ensure they know about and understand the latest changes to the U.S. Tax Code. In 2019 in Delaware, 194 AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers helped more than 14,000 people file their federal and state tax returns. The program is offered at approximately, 42 sites in Delaware including senior centers, libraries and other convenient locations.
