As part of the implementation, the new $3 fee will be lowered to $2 for those visitors arriving after 3 pm. In asddition, coupon books are available for 15 passes for $36 – a savings of $9.

Fees were last adjusted in 2006, when the adult admission price increased from $1.50 to $2. Admission fee for children under 12 has been the same ($1) since the facility opened in May of 1997.

The popular Killens Pond Water Park, located within Killens Pond State Park, is the only public swimming park of its kind on the Delmarva Peninsula and the public swimming pool in Kent County. This spring, visitors can look forward to numerous park improvements and new programming.

At the water park, a new kiddie slide will replace the existing slide. in addition, the park’s two main slides have been refurbished and its filter casing repalced. A faulty casing last summer caused a several-day closure. Other renovations include the Pondview rental cottage where new siding, roof shingles and energy efficient windows have been added.

Adjacent to the Sports Complex, a new band shell will be constrcuted this spring to support the many summer concerts, festivals and special events held in the park. Improvements at the Nature Center include a new amphibian/reptile exhibit scheduled to open in July. Also at the Nature Center, new traveling art shows at the center will feature the works of local Delaware artists beginning in May.
