WILMINGTON – Every Tuesday in August, the Delaware Museum of Natural History (DMNH) is partnering with Artisans’ Bank to lower admission prices to just $1 per person during August Dollar Tuesdays. Visitors are invited to explore the wonders of the natural world at DMNH for just $1 on August 4, 11, 18, and 25, courtesy of Artisans’ Bank.
Admission includes entry to DMNH’s current special exhibit, Deep Sea Treasures, where families can delve into the exciting world of deep-sea exploration. Discover the creatures that live in the deep and create their own light. Find a sunken ship using simulated sonar. Recover treasure with a robotic arm. Feel the contours of the mountains and valleys on the ocean floor.
The Museum’s permanent galleries showcase Delaware’s only dinosaurs on permanent display, a life-sized model of a giant squid, a coral reef walkover, an African watering hole, and exotic mollusk and bird collections. Visitors can learn about paleontology in the Science in Action lab, and children can enjoy hands-on activities in the fully interactive Discovery Room. The Larry Scott Nature Trail and Butterfly Garden reach their peak in late summer, with an outdoor eating area nearby to share a picnic lunch. If the weather is hot, visitors can cool off in the Museum’s air-conditioned DuPont Auditorium to see a nature film.
Artisans’ Bank is the Presenting Sponsor of August Dollar Tuesdays at DMNH.
DMNH is located at 4840 Kennett Pike (Route 52), five miles north of Wilmington and three miles from the Pennsylvania state line.
