Arrests Made in Pike Creek Attempted Robbery

UPDATE – Pike Creek, DE- Delaware State Police Robbery Unit detectives have arrested a Wilmington man and charged the victim as well in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred in a Pike Creek Delaware shopping center late last month.
 
On Thursday, July 2, 2015, detectives responded to a residence located in the 500 block of North Franklin Street, Wilmington, and took Phillip Pepe, 25, into custody without incident. He was then transported to Troop 2, Glasgow, where he was charged with Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited, and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, in connection with the attempted armed robbery of an Oxford, PA, woman that occurred in the Pike Creek Shopping Center located at 4728 Limestone Road on June 25, 2015. Pepe was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released after posting $6750.00 secured bail.

During the course of this investigation, robbery unit detectives determined that the victim, Adriana Reynaga, 26, of Oxford, PA, had provided them with false details as to the exact nature of this incident. Through several interviews and other investigative measures, detectives determined that Reynaga had arranged to meet Pepe at the Pike Creek Shopping Center on June 25th in order to purchase illegal drugs. Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Reynaga charging her with Providing a False Statement to Law Enforcement, Falsely Reporting an Incident, and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Reynaga turned herself in to detectives at Troop 2 on Friday, July 3rd. She was then arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $5000.00 unsecured bail.

Troopers Seek Help to Identify Robbery Suspect
 
Pike Creek, De – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating the attempted armed robbery of a female which occurred near the side parking lot of the Valley Liquors store on Thursday.
 
The initial investigation has determined the incident occurred on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 1:18 p.m., as a 26 year old female with her three children of Oxford PA, parked in the parking lot located at 4728 Limestone Road Pike Creek Shopping Center, Pike Creek, DE. A white male suspect approached the victim’s vehicle and opened the unlocked passenger door then sat in the front right passenger seat.  The suspect then displayed a knife and demanded money from the victim while three children were in the vehicle.  The victim and her children were not injured.  
 
The suspect has been identified as Phillip Pepe, 25 of 500 N. Rodney Street, Wilmington. He is described as 5’07” tall approximately 166 lbs. with brown hair and brown eyes. He also has ties to Pike Creek area.
 
An arrest warrant is on file at Troop 2 for the following charges: one count each of Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by Person Prohibited; three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The initial investigation has determined the incident occurred on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at 1:18 p.m., as a 26 year old female with her three children of Oxford PA, parked in the parking lot located at 4728 Limestone Road Pike Creek Shopping Center, Pike Creek, DE. A white male suspect approached the victim’s vehicle and opened the unlocked passenger door then sat in the front right passenger seat.  The suspect then displayed a knife and demanded money from the victim.  The victim did not have any money and the suspect then tried to talk the victim into getting money out of an ATM.  The victim refused and the suspect then grabbed the keys to the vehicle and threw the keys into a nearby bush and then fled southbound across the parking lot. The victim and her children were not injured.  
 
The suspect was described as a white male approximately 20 to 25 years old and approximately 160 to 180 lbs. He was last seen wearing a light colored t-shirt and dark shorts. No further physical or clothing description is available.
