Beebe Healthcare’s Medical Staff Awards Three Nursing Scholarships

LEWES (April 11, 2022) – Beebe Healthcare’s Medical Staff has awarded three senior Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus students a scholarship this year. The three seniors are Tyler Bowman from Milford, Josephine Melson from Milton, and Amaya Wright from Milford.

The scholarships recognize exceptional clinical performance in nursing, in accordance with the criteria established by the Students Services Committee of the School of Nursing.

The Medical Staff at Beebe Healthcare recognizes the support of nursing education is a very important component of its mission in the promotion and delivery of healthcare in Sussex County.

The School of Nursing has a long and proud history, and a tradition of excellence in nursing education. It remains the only community hospital-based institution in the State of Delaware to continue to fulfill this mission.

The Medical Staff created the Nursing Scholar’s program to support the education of eligible candidates in the School of Nursing, which includes the candidate’s expressed intention of working in our community after graduation.

Each of the recipients have accepted offers for employment at Beebe Healthcare after graduation. These students chose to attend the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing because of its reputation of a rigorous program, with graduates who have excellent clinical skills. In addition, the students recognize that graduates School of Nursing have consistently high pass rates on the Registered Nurse licensure exam. Each of the recipients plan to continue their education after graduation with an ultimate goal of completing a master’s degree in Nursing.
