On behalf of the United Way of Delaware’s Board, Campaign Cabinet, staff and volunteers, I want to thank everyone who helped us reach our 2008 fundraising goal of $22 million! The going was tough, but you did it!
To reach our target in any year is an accomplishment. To have done so in the current economic environment is a tribute to you — the tens of thousands of Delawareans who understand the needs of your neighbors. You know that United Way supports health and human service programs that struggling families rely on, especially in times like these.
We are entering what will undoubtedly be a period of even greater challenge in the year ahead. To prepare, United Way of Delaware is already developing new strategies to make the 2009 Campaign successful.
For now, however, I want to repeat how grateful we are for all you did to help us reach this important goal. People like you continue to demonstrate that Delawareans are a tough and resourceful group and that we look out for one another, especially in troubled times. With our eyes fixed on the future, we go in to the New Year ready to serve.
Give. Advocate. Volunteer. That’s what it means to Live United.
Thank you for being with us.
