For those who are looking forward to staying close to home this July 4, the state parks are great places to bring family and friends to celebrate the holiday.
Entrance fees are a bargain, and a Delaware State Parks Annual Pass makes it even easier to enjoy the parks’ precious natural resources.

Gene McClone, of Gentle Palm Karate Academy, will lead the group through the basic movements of Tai Chi.

Families will enjoy spending a warm summer evening at Bellevue for a free Summer Concert featuring First State Symphonic Band. Park entrance fees in effect.

Kayaking Station Cove
9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Park naturalists will identify the wildlife that makes up this dynamic ecosystem. Participants receive basic kayaking instruction and all equipment. Pre-registration required. Age: 13 and up; Cost: $35 per person.
Inland Bays Explorer
10 a.m. – Noon
Participants of all ages will be able to help perform simple water quality tests, identify aquatic plants and animals, look for birds, and find out what role humans play in the ecology of the coastal waterways. Cost: $20 per person.
Sea Glass Jewelry Pendants
1 – 3 p.m.
Visitors may bring their own piece of sea glass or choose from the park’s collection to make a simple pendant. Pre-registration is required. Age: 12 and up; Cost: $15 per person.
Rehoboth Bay Sightseeing Boat Tour
1 – 2:30 p.m.
This is a relaxing sightseeing tour of Rehoboth Bay for all ages that features local landmarks, wildlife ,and past and present human connections to the area. Cost: $19 per person.
Seining the Bay at Tower Road
1:30 – 3 p.m.
Participants help pull a 20-foot seine net through shallow water to catch fish, crabs and other critters to identify. Closed-toe shoes must be worn. Pre-registration is required.. Age: 5 and up Cost: $4 per person.
