Sadly, there are people who in their zeal to please God destroy lives. I am sure this is not done on purpose; rather, it is lack of knowledge. Years ago, I heard of a young man who received counsel by another.
The young man wanted to live a chaste life but had uncontrolled desires. He was told that in order to be pleasing to God he had to abhor himself. Wanting to subdue the feelings, he underwent castration and subsequently committed suicide. I suffered to hear of this tragedy. I cried out for understanding.
Today, I share what was given in answer to that prayer. It helped me to comprehend the war that goes on within. I was shown Jesus as a mirror reflecting the state of every soul, and showing the need for healing and clarity of mind. I saw the ‘soul’ distinct from the ‘old man.’ And saw how they were also entangled, like the parable of the wheat and the tare. They grow together until the harvest. (Mathews 13:30)
In the meantime, that connection acts like a veil that prevents us from seeing and understanding truth. To help us, Grace comes like a spark that awakens the soul. Now, it can begin to recognize what is going on within. It can also recognize the bridegroom in his loving kindness and, the old man with its lusts and deceitfulness.
Jesus came to save the soul. He did not come to save the ‘old man, also known as ‘the son of perdition.’ The soul is you and me-created by God for His glory. In this new light, the soul has a greater chance to choose LIFE. As our understanding and sight increase, we more readily accept our true identity in Christ.
There are many parables that show this heavenly play and many more examples of how the old man must be put off in order for the new man to arise. As the actors in this divine play we must do our part and make room for God. ‘That ye put off concerning the former conversation, the old man which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.’ (Ephesians 4:22)
Remember that the old man does not have a problem forcing himself upon you, but the Lord requires that you open the door when He knocks. There is more to share, but space does not allow. For now, I encourage you to choose life and may God ‘…comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.’ (2 Thessalonians 2:17)

Lamentablemente, hay personas que en su afán de agradar a Dios destruyen vidas. Estoy segura de que esto no lo hacen a propósito; por el contrario, lo hacen por falta de conocimiento. Hace años escuché de un joven que recibio consejos de otro.
El joven quería vivir una vida casta pero que sufria a cuenta de deseos incontrolados. Le dijeron que para agradar a Dios deberia aborrecerse a sí mismo. Queriendo controlar sus impulsos, él se sometio a una castración y posteriormente se suicidó. Sufrí cuando escuche de esta tragedia. Clamé a Dios para que me ayudara a entender los que habia pasado.
Hoy, comparto lo que recibi en respuesta a la oración. Dios me ayudó a comprender la que ocurre en nuestro interior-es guerra. Vi a Jesús como un espejo que refleja el estado de todas las almas. Asi, nos muestra nuestra necesidad de recibir la sanidad y la claridad mental. Pude distinguir entre los dos el ‘alma’ y el ‘viejo hombre.’Y vi cómo también estaban enredados, como en el ejemplo de la parábola del trigo y la tara. Crecen juntos hasta la cosecha. (San Mateo 13:30)
Entretanto, esa conexión actúa como un velo que nos impide ver y entender la verdad. Para ayudarnos viene la Gracia como una chispa que despierta el alma. Ahora el alma, puede reconocer lo que está pasando dentro del ser. Puede reconocer tambien al esposo verdadero con su amorosa bondad y, a la vez al viejo hombre con sus lujurias y engaño.
Jesús vino a salvar almas. No vino a salvar al viejo hombre, también conocido como “el hijo de perdición”. El alma que tenemos tú y yo ha sido creada por Dios para su gloria. En esta nueva luz, el alma tiene una mayor posibilidad de optar por la vida. A medida que aumentan nuestra comprensión y nuestra vision, más fácilmente aceptamos nuestra verdadera identidad en Cristo.
Hay muchas parábolas que muestran esta obra celestial y muchos más ejemplos de cómo el Viejo hombre sera puesto en su lugar para que el hombre nuevo pueda levantarse completamente. Como los actores en esta obra divina debemos hacer lo que nos corresponde y hacer espacio para Dios en nuestras vidas. ‘En cuanto a la pasada manera de vivir, despojaos del Viejo hombre, que es corrupto según los deseos engañosos y renovaos en el espíritu de vuestra mente’. (Efesios 4:22)
Recuerda que el viejo hombre no tiene problema alguno en imponense sobre nosotros, más El Señor requiere que abramos la puerta cuando llama. Tengo más para compartir, pero no tengo más espacio. Por ahora, los animo a optar por la vida y que Dios ‘.. .conforte vuestros corazones y os confirme en toda buena palabra y obra. ” (2 Tesalonicenses 2:17)
