On Monday June 20th 2016, Consul Alicia Kerber Palma took position as Head of the Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia, as appointed by Mexican Foreign Ministry Mrs. Claudia Ruiz Massieu.
Consul Kerber Palma holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and also a Doctor’s Degree (Ph. D.) in International Public Law from at National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She is a career diplomat, member of the Mexican Foreign Service since 1991. She has served in different positions in the Mexican Foreign Ministry and in other State Secretaries. Consul Kerber has represented Mexico as Officer for Political Affairs at the Mexican Embassy in Colombia; Consul of Mexico in San Pedro Sula, Honduras; Deputy Representative of Mexico before the Organization of American States (OAS in Washington, D.C.); and Deputy Head of the Mexican Embassy in Ireland. Before being appointed to her current position, she served as the Head of the Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City, Missouri.
One of the main objectives of the Consul Kerber Palma is to work with a gender perspective to give voice to the 49% of the migrant population by making sure women benefit from the different services and programs available at the Consular Representations of Mexico. Similarly, she holds a strong commitment to strengthen communication links with the Mexican community, key partners and other stakeholders in the region to enable services with efficiency, transparency and accountability, while boosting the image of Mexico and their contributions through the culture, traditions and hard work that characterizes our community.
