DOVER, Del. – The Del-Mar-Va Council Boy Scouts of America has partnered with Dover International Speedway to raise funds for the Delmarva Council’s new 85-acre scouting camp, to be located in Dover. New and existing scouts are eligible to participate in the program. Scouts that sell at least one adult general admission ticket to the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010 will receive a free ticket to the race.

Special incentives have been created for scouts that sell the most tickets. The grand prize for top sellers will include a chance to meet NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, and four-time Dover International Speedway winner, Jeff Gordon. Other prizes include great seats in the Monster Bridge, a 56-seat suite that spans the track near Turn 3; seats in an all-inclusive luxury suite overlooking the frontstretch and pit road; an opportunity to participate in the post-race Victory Lane celebration; and t-shirt and patch giveaways.

A full day of activities is planned for scouts and their guests at the track on Sept. 25, including a special Pinewood Derby track that will be erected in the Dover International Speedway FanZone. On-track activity begins at 10:35 a.m., with the NASCAR Nationwide Series race beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Over 12,000 scouts currently comprise more than 380 scouting units on the Delmarva Peninsula, and approximately 5,000 boys across Delmarva join scouting each year.
