Dover – DelDOT snow crews mobilized this morning in all three Delaware counties, with plowing underway in New Castle and Kent counties. Road treatment is underway in parts of Sussex county.

Snow accumulation has occurred rapidly on roads in the northern part of the state and drivers are asked to stay off the roads if possible to allow snow removal crews to do their jobs.

Multiple crashes in southern Pennsylvania closed I-95 southbound and an a jack-knifed tractor trailer closed both lanes of Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Temperatures should turn warmer for a few hours, but the possibility of freezing rain and icy roads tonight could make driving treacherous in the northern parts of the state.

DelDOT is requesting that motorists not venture out this evening and prepare for slow going tomorrow morning until temperatures warm.
