Many people go through life seeking true love. Needing and wanting, they look mostly in wrong places. Others, due to a sense of rejection and deep wounds of the past, give up on love. Many, though willing to connect with others, lack a sense of being and belonging. Perhaps it is because we live in a ‘disposable’ society where people may feel they are disposable too.
Have you ever asked: ‘Where can I find love?’ It is closer than you might think. Do you hear love wooing you? Sweet as honey it fills the heart, heals all wounds and restores all senses. It also expands our humanity. It invites all to partake of it freely but it also cautions of depth of commitment it demands.
In Song of Solomon, we find a verse recorded three times: Sgs 2:7; Sgs 3:5; and Sgs. 8:4. The thrice inspired verse reads: ‘I charge you, Oh daughters of Jerusalem, Do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases.’ The phrase ‘until it pleases’ refer to our willingness and readiness to receive this greater love and the phrase ‘Daughters of Jerusalem’ is a metaphor for the souls of the children of God. But more importantly, the verse starts out with an admonition: “I charge you” in other words ‘don’t accept this love lightly.’ Unfortunately, there are not many fully committed to this love. Hence the phrase ‘many are called but few are chosen.’
What would cause someone to not commit fully? For some it is a sense of unworthiness, for others it is a sense of guilt, and for others, the sense that they must do kind works to merit it. But all that is needed is TRUST. Trust is the Faith that gives space to Love. When we learn to silence all the voices that speak lies and learn to BE STILL in order to truly know God, then we will acquire the needed trust to experience the love of God.
I learned this lesson in April of 2008. Many a times I felt the wooing My Beloved yet I would let guilt stop me from accepting His love fully. That was until I heard the Lord say: “You are in ME and I AM in you. Nothing can separate you from My Love. I came down and scooped you in the hallow of my hand that you might come to fully believe ME and no longer the lies of the enemy that tempts you to run away from Me. For as you run away, the heat starts again. I want to walk with you in the cool of day in the garden. Will you believe that I AM LOVE? I AM LOVE!”
From that moment on, I trusted fully and was granted the peace that TRUE LOVE brings. I believe that the Lord is speaking similar words to you today. In Christ the love of God is abundant and sure. Do you hear the Beloved wooing you? I pray you do.
¿Escuchas el galanteo de tu amado?
Muchas personas van buscando en la vida el amor verdadero. Necesitados y deseosos, buscan mayormente en los lugares equivocados. Otros se dan por vencidos debido a que retienen un sentido de rechazo y no han sanado de las heridas profundas del pasado. Muchos, aunque están dispuestos a conectar con otros, carecen de un sentido de ser y de pertenecer. Quizás es porque vivimos en un sociedad ‘desechable’ donde la gente se siente desechable también.
Te has preguntado alguna vez: ‘¿dónde podré encontrar el amor?’ Está más cerca de lo que puedas imaginar. ¿Escuchas su galanteo? Dulce como la miel, llena el corazón, sana todas las heridas, y restaura todos los sentidos. También expande nuestra humanidad. Invita a todos a tomar parte de él libremente pero también amonesta sobre la profundidad de compromiso que demanda.
En el libro Canción de Cantares, encontramos el mismo versículo repetido tres veces: 2:7; 3:5; y 8:4. El Espíritu Santo lo repite para dar énfasis: “Yo os conjuro, ¡oh doncellas de Jerusalén! Por los corzos y por las ciervas del campo. Que no despertéis ni hagáis velar al amor, Hasta que quiera.” La frase “Doncellas de Jerusalén” es metáfora para las almas de los hijos de Dios; y la frase ‘hasta que quiera’ se refiere a nuestro consentimiento y disponibilidad para recibir este amor tan grande. La frase “Os conjuro” es una amonestación de no aceptar este amor antes de pensarlo muy bien. Desafortunadamente, no hay muchos comprometidos de lleno a este amor. Por tanto la frase ‘mucho son llamados, pocos escogidos.’
¿Qué es lo que causa que alguien no se comprometa de lleno? Para algunos es el sentirse indigno, para otros es el sentido de culpabilidad y para otros, la creencia de que tienen que hacer labores bondadosas para merecerlo. Pero todo lo que se necesita es CONFIANZA. La confianza es Fe que da cabida al amor. Cuando aprendemos a callar las voces que hablan mentiras y aprendemos a estar quietos para conocer verdaderamente a Dios, entonces adquiriremos la confianza que necesitamos para experimentar el amor de Dios.
Yo aprendí esta lección en abril del 2008. Muchas veces sentí el galanteo de Mi Amado pero dejaba que me detuviera el sentido de culpabilidad que tenia por los errores del pasado. Hasta que escuché al Señor decir: “Tu estás en MI y YO estoy en ti. Nada te puede separar de Mi Amor. Vine abajo y te recogí en el hueco de mi mano para que llegues a creer completamente en MI y no en las mentiras del enemigo que te tienta a correr lejos de MI”. Pues mientras corres, la tensión vuelve. Quiero caminar contigo en el jardín al fresco del día. ¿Creerás que YO SOY AMOR? ¡YO SOY AMOR!
De ese momento en adelante confié plenamente y se me concedió la paz que trae consigo el amor verdadero. Yo sé que el Señor te está hablando palabras semejantes. En Cristo, el amor de Dios es abundante y seguro. ¿Escuchas el galanteo de TU Amado? Espero que así sea.
