21-year-old Moises A. Acurio-Suarez of Georgetown was arrested for an incident that occurred on West Laurel Street.

Police were contacted by the Nanticoke Hospital and advised that there was a 7-year-old male victim that was being examined for a possible sexual assault.

The exam revealed injuries to the victim that were consistent with sexual assault. Further investigation revealed that Suarez was a neighbor of the victim and at times the victim would be dropped off to be baby-sat while the victim’s mother would go to work.

On 08/12/09 the victim advised his mother that he did not want to be dropped off there anymore because Suarez was having sex with him.

The victim was also interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center and disclosed that on at least 4 different occasions Suarez made him have sexual intercourse. Suarez was taken into custody and admitted to investigators that the allegations made by the victim were true.

The only reason Suarez gave for the sexual assault was he was rejected by his family at a young age. Suarez was charged with 4 counts of rape 1st degree, 1 count of rape 2nd degree, felony endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful imprisonment; he was committed to SCI in lieu of $237,000.00 cash bond.
