WILMINGTON, Delaware—Delaware students are invited to apply for scholarships available through the Delaware Community Foundation. Last year, the DCF awarded more than 300 scholarships totaling more than $467,000.

A complete list of the scholarships is available in the Delaware Community Foundation Scholarship Compendium, Scholarships to be Awarded for the 2012-2013 School Year at http://www.delcf.org. The Compendium includes criteria and information about each award, as well as applications. The submission deadline for the majority of scholarships is April 1, 2011.

With a single application, students can apply for a variety of scholarships available through the DCF. Applicants should review the criteria for all of the available awards and simply check the boxes next to the scholarships for which they wish to be considered. There is no cap on the number of scholarships or amount students may receive.

In addition to tuition assistance, funding from many of the scholarships may be applied to the costs of textbooks and fees. Some are one-time awards, and others are renewable.

“Many of our donors who care about education choose to create scholarship funds to help students and their families with rising college costs,” said Richard A. Gentsch, Executive Vice President of the Delaware Community Foundation. “Our goal is to connect people who care about education with people who care about their futures.”
