State of emergency terminated Sept. 1

Effective immediately, Governor Jack Markell has terminated the State of Emergency that was declared for Delaware on Thursday, August 25, due to Hurricane Irene. The State of Emergency was lifted when it was determined that road conditions have improved and the public can travel safely, power is restored to most Delawareans and flooding has subsided throughout the state.

Storm damages are being assessed and the public is advised to continue to be aware of conditions and practice safety in their actions.
