Mayor Brian Pettyjohn was in the courtroom for the Motion to Dismiss Hearing and was obviously pleased with the Judge’s ruling. “Once again, the soundness of the personnel policies and procedures followed by the Town of Georgetown, have been reaffirmed,” said Pettyjohn.
The complaint was filed in June of 2011 by former Georgetown Police Officer Christopher L. Cooper.
The Town was well represented by Stephani J. Ballard, Esquire for the proceeding. Police Chief William Topping was also pleased with the dismissal. Topping indicated “it is nice to see these claims come to conclusion.”
