On Saturday, June 27 at noon, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity will dedicate the latest Habitat built house in Concord Village, Seaford. At that time, it will become the home of Martha Del Campo and her family. The home is unique in that it has been built by Women Build, an all women corps of volunteers who have worked with Ms. Del Campo over the past five months to complete the home.

“This is a great group of women,” said Beth Fitton, Resource Development Officer for Sussex County Habitat for Humanity. “They were selected by the Fund for Women to receive a grant for $15,000 recognizing their grassroots effort to bring self-confidence and self-sufficiency to both the homeowner and to the volunteers engaged in the home construction. In addition, they have worked with local Lowe’s stores to provide construction and home maintenance training to women. I applaud their dedication and commitment.”

Habitat for Humanity seeks families who currently reside in substandard living conditions and works along side of them to build a simple, decent and affordable home with an interest-free mortgage. Habitat provides the potential homeowner with training designed to make them successful homeowners.
