On Wednesday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m., Woodburn, the Governor’s official residence in Dover, was lit in blue as part of a national campaign to bring awareness to Down syndrome.
The Light the Way campaign, led by First Ladies and supported by Governor’s Offices around the country, is intended to bring attention to Down syndrome cognitive research, which holds promise for improving memory, learning and communication for individuals of all ages with Down syndrome. March 21 was chosen because Down syndrome is the result of the presence of three copies of chromosome 21.
