Detalles	The Mayor and Town Council members are elected to serve a two (2) year term. Election Day is held on the second (2nd) Saturday in May from 1 pm to 7 p.m. Each candidate for Mayor and for Town Council member shall notify the Town Manager in writing of his/her candidacy. All notifications of candidacy shall be dated, signed by the candidate and witnessed by at least two (2) adult residents of the Town. All notifications of candidacy shall be filed in the office of the Town Manager no later than 5:00 p.m. on the fourth (4th) Friday in April. If such day is a legal holiday, notifications of candidacy shall be filed on the last business day immediately preceding the fourth Friday in April. A person may register to vote in the municipal election at the office of the Town Manager, during the regular business hours, until the close of business on the last Friday in April prior to the date of the municipal election. A person may register to vote if he or she turned 18 years of age on or before the date of the election and is a bona fide resident of the Town of Georgetown.
