Governor John Carney recently signed a modification to the State of Emergency declaration mandating that only designated “Emergency Child Care Sites” would be authorized to provide child care in Delaware.

The order took effect this week.

In our area, the following providers are among those designated as Emergency Child Care Sites: Pooh’s Place (Greenwood), Tiffany Lamontagne (Greenwood), Leticia Gehman (Bridgeville), Helping Hands Learning Center I (Bridgeville), Catherine E. Ross (Bridgeville), Lynn’s Home Daycare (Bridgeville), Marlette Lofland (Bridgeville), Comesha Haynes (Bridgeville), Irene Terroy (Bridgeville), Tanya Randolph (Bridgeville), Debora Mapp (Bridgeville), Serena’s Family Care (Bridgeville), Venita Johnson (Bridgeville), Alfrieda Massey (Bridgeville), Vanessa Savage (Bridgeville), Stepping Stones Daycare (Seaford), Dolly Cannon-Pitts (Seaford), Open Arms Daycare (Seaford), Belinda E. In order to be an emergency child care site, the Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families (DSCYF) must certify that the operation is providing child care only to children of personnel working for essential businesses, as defined under the State of Emergency order, and that these parents cannot work from home.
