Volunteers with the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula met with a family of four (three adults and one child) last August 15, 2009 after a fire damaged their Gravel Hill Road home in Georgetown, DE. The Red Cross provided food, clothing and comfort kits for the family.

The Red Cross reminds residents of the Delmarva Peninsula to check and replace the batteries in their smoke detectors. A working and updated smoke alarm may save your life or the lives of your loved ones in the event of a fire.
