House fire quickly extinguished location: 220 North Van Buren Street

At 2316 hours a call was received via 911 for a reported house fire. Fire Companies on the B-Platoon were dispatched to the above location. At 2319 hours the first arriving unit reported a two story end of the row home with heavy fire showing from the rear.

Firefighter located an outside trash fire which extended to the rear porch. The fire was quickly extinguished. A search of the home found that all occupants were able to exit the home prior to the fire departments arrival.

The fire was declared under control at 2326 hours. The house sustained fire damage to the rear porch. The attached home did not sustain any damage.

The Wilmington Fire Marshal’s Office declared the cause of the fire to be undetermined at this time. There were no injuries.

Approximately twenty three personnel responded to the incident. The following units responded: E6, E5, SB2, T2, R1, B2, FM16, and PA1. The Incident Commander was Battalion Chief Michael Donohue.
