As I prayed about what to write, I remembered that May marks the third year anniversary of my writing for this newspaper. Whenever the Lord wants to emphasize a point, he announces it in a set of three. It is no coincidence that the number appears at epic times in the experiences of the people of God.
Here are a few examples. It is intimately related to the three feasts given to the Israelites (Exodus 23:14) referring to the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles. It is also linked to the number 300 as those in Gideon’s army (Judge 7:6-7). In addition it is connected to the three major processes that Jesus experienced: death, resurrection and ascension.
These and many accounts reflect spiritual realities designed to awaken us that we may be numbered among the faithful. I believe that the entire Bible is a huge parable that contains lessons at many levels, which we may understand depending on our ability to hear and heed. For example, when we read the words in Jeremiah 22:29, “O earth, earth, earth, Hear the word of the LORD!” Pray for revelation, ‘what are you saying to me, Lord? Then, pay attention.
Looking more deeply, we are told that we are made of the dust of the earth but also that we are made in the image of the Father. What does that mean? Does it mean that we have two parents making us part heaven and, part earth? If so, that gives a new meaning to the command to honor your father and your mother found in Exodus 20:12. Don’t you think? Here and now, we are called to be mindful. Do you think that if we fail this task, we will dwell in heaven? All things are interrelated!
This topic will continue in part 2 since there is much more to it. For now, let me close by sharing a vision that came as I was writing part 1. The earth was revealed to me as a woman. In the scene there were two men talking inside a restaurant. While they ate next to a window facing the street, one man commented on the dirty woman begging across the way. “Where is God? Why doesn’t he help that woman?” he said in disdain. The other answered “Don’t you know that you are God’s hands upon the earth? Esteem her as your mother!” Therein is another spiritual lesson to help us to increase our capacity in Christ.

Mientras oraba para saber lo que escribiría, recordé que este mes de mayo marca mi tercer aniversario de estar escribiendo para este periódico. Siempre que el Señor quiere enfatizar algo, lo presenta en tres. No es coincidencia que el número aparece en momentos grandiosos en la experiencia de la gente de Dios.
He aquí unos cuantos ejemplos. Por una, esta intimamente relacionado con las fiestas dadas a los Israelitas (Exodus 23:14) referente a la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, la fiesta de las semanas con la primicias de la cosecha, y la fiesta solemne de los tabernáculos. También está vinculada a los 300 hombres en el ejército de Gedeón (Jueces 7:6-7). Además, están conectados con los tres, las tres experiencias mayores de Jesús: su muerte, su resurrección y su ascensión a los cielos.
Pero estos recuentos reflejan realidades espirituales que están diseñadas a despertarnos de manera que podamos ser contados entre los fieles. Creo que la Biblia entera es una parábola gigante que contiene lecciones de muchos niveles las cuales entenderemos de acuerdo con nuestra habilidad de escuchar y apreciar. Por ejemplo, cuando leas las palabras en el Libro de Jeremías 22:29, ‘¡Tierra, tierra, tierra! oye palabra de Jehová.’ Ora para recibir la revelación. ¿Qué quieres que aprenda Señor? Y después presta atención.
Contemplando más profundamente, se nos dice que estamos formados del polvo de la tierra y también que estamos hechos a la imagen de Dios. ¿Qué quiere decir éso? ¿Es que significa que tenemos dos padres de manera que somos parte del cielo y parte de la tierra? Si es así, esto aumenta la importancia de guardar el mandamiento ‘Honra a tu padre y a tu madre’ (Exodus 20:12). ¿No crees? Ahora y aquí en la tierra se nos llama a ser consciente. ¿Crees que si fallamos en esa tarea moraremos en el cielo? ¡Todo está interrelacionado!
Este tópico continuará en la segunda parte pues hay más que decir. Por ahora, compartiré una visión que tuve mientras escribía esta primera parte. Se me reveló la Tierra como una mujer. En la escena ví a dos hombres conversando dentro de un restaurante. Mientras comían uno de ellos se fijó en una mujer mugrienta que mendigaba al cruzar la calle. Le dijo al otro indignado, “¿Dónde está Dios? ¿Por qué no ayuda a esa mujer?” El otro le contestó, “No sabes que eres las manos de Dios sobre la tierra? Esíímala como a tu madre.” He ahí otra lección para ayudarnos a aumentar nuestra capacidad en Cristo.
