Millsboro Middle School students excel at National BPA Leadership Conference


Students from Millsboro Middle School attended the Business Professionals of America (BPA) 2012 National Leadership Conference in Chicago, IL from April 25-29.

Students Charles Megginson, Clayton Boucher, Briar Gibbs and Carly Precht were among those who scored top-three finishes in their competitive events. They joined more than 5,000 middle and high school conference delegates from across the country at the national conference. They participated in business skills competitions, workshops, general sessions and national officer candidate campaigns and elections. The theme of this year’s national conference was “Reach New Heights.”

The results are as follows:

•Charles Megginson: 1st place in Business Communications and 2nd place in Extemporaneous Speech.
•Clayton Boucher, Briar Gibbs, Charles Megginson and Carly Precht: 3rd place in Web Site Design Team

Business Professionals of America is a national organization for middle school, high school and college students who are learning about business. The organization’s activities and programs complement classroom instruction by giving students practical experience through the application of skills learned in the classroom. Business Professional of America acts as a cohesive agent in the nationwide networking of education and business industry and is contributing to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academics and technological skills.
