A Georgetown, DE family of two adults received Red Cross assistance today after a fire damaged their N. Bedford Street home. The Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula provided food, clothing and comfort kits. Sadly, the fire took the life of the family’s cat.

The Red Cross reminds residents of the Delmarva Peninsula to check and replace the batteries in their smoke detectors. A working and updated smoke alarm may save your life or the lives of your loved ones in the event of a fire.
