Wilmington, DE – On September 4 and 5, 2019, the Help Our Kids Radiothon was held at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. For two days six Forever Media radio stations broadcasted live from the hospital’s Anthony N Fusco, Sr. Atrium sharing with their listeners stories of hope, courage, and compassion from our patients, patient families, and clinicians.
Donations came steadily throughout the two-day event via a phone bank and online giving. There were also those who donated in person, inspired by what they heard on their favorite radio station.
As the clock hit 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, the total was announced: $265,202, but over the weekend, donations continued and are still being accepted online. To date, the total amount raised was $273,862. This makes the 9 year total more than $2 million.

An overview of the Help Our Kids Radiothon, including all the sponsors and Mateo Ahumada’s story (this year’s Radiothon ambassador) are online at www.nemours.org/radiothon
“The success of Radiothon comes from everyone on our team, every Associate in our hospital, all of our community partners, and our sponsor Forever Media. But most importantly, we must recognize our patients and their families. Because they are the ones that are sharing their stories live on air to try and generate support for kids just like them. One hundred percent of all money donated will go to Child Life, Palliative Medicine, and Pastoral Care, which supports the patients in our care, and their siblings, at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children”, said Grace Carr, Marketing & Communications Manager, Nemours Fund for Children’s Health
