On Monday, November 7, DART launches its NEW Intercounty Route 302 bus service between Dover and Newark.  The route will improve access to jobs and answer the needs of local businesses and commuting Delawareans.

Route 302 links Dover, Smyrna, Townsend, Middletown (including Amazon), Glasgow and Newark, operating four round trips during rush hours.

Delaware Transit Corporation CEO, John Sisson said, “This intercounty bus route has been developed for commuters traveling between Dover and Newark, and points in between, including those working at Amazon.com’s Fulfillment Center in Middletown.  With Amazon and other businesses increasing their workforce for the holiday season, November is the perfect time to implement this service.  Bus Route 302 was designed to provide access to employment and contribute to the State’s continuing economic development.”

“We are more than pleased with our ongoing partnership with DART and to be able to offer new transportation options for our many associates and job seekers in the New Castle County and Kent County areas,” states Todd Bavol, Co-Founder, President and CEO of Integrity Staffing Solutions, whose agency does the hiring for Middletown’s Amazon Fulfillment Center.  “Public-private partnerships such as this one are vital to our local economy.”

The new route travels three fare zones with a cash fare of $2.60 per zone; a daily pass is $5.50 per zone.  When traveling the full route between Dover and Newark, the cash fare is $7.80 per trip or $16.50 for a 3-Zone Daily Pass.
