Georgetown, DE (October 7, 2011) - The Town of Georgetown received official notification on Friday, October 7, 2011, that a complaint against the Mayor and Town Council, filed in the Superior Court of the State of Delaware, in and for Sussex County had been dismissed.

Mayor Brian Pettyjohn was in the courtroom for the Motion to Dismiss Hearing and was obviously pleased with the Judge’s ruling. “Once again, the soundness of the personnel policies and procedures followed by the Town of Georgetown, have been reaffirmed,” said Pettyjohn.

The complaint was filed in June of 2011 by former Georgetown Police Officer Christopher L. Cooper.
