Wilmington- From the creators and original cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000 comes Cinematic Titanic, a production that recaptures the classic television series’ witty riffing in front of a large film display.
Like MST3K, Cinematic Titanic is the brainchild of Joel Hodgson, and features the same team that first brought the Peabody Award-winning cult-classic series to life: Trace Beaulieu (Crow, Dr. Forrester), J. Elvis Weinstein (Tom Servo, Dr. Erhardt), Frank Conniff (TV's Frank), and Mary Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester). For their performance at The Grand, the Cinematic Titanic team will be providing humorous commentary for the classic 1976 B-movie Doomsday Machine.
Founded in late 2007, Cinematic Titanic is an artist-funded, artist-owned and operated venture. With ten feature-length DVDs and an ever-growing schedule of live shows, the Cinematic Titanic team aims to reconnect with “MSTies” around the world, as well as bring new fans to the comedy art form first introduced by this same group over twenty years ago.

Called a “must see” by The Austin Chronicle, Intergalactic Nemesis is a live-action graphic novel, science fiction homage, and an old-time radio show inspired by Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, and the pulp serials of the 1930s. The show is multimedia-based, projecting over 1,000 hand-drawn comic book illustrations panel-by-panel on a two-story high screen, while three live actors perform the voices, a foley artist creates the sound effects, and a keyboardist plays the score.
“In 20 years of directing and producing plays, I’ve never seen an audience respond so positively,” says project creator Jason Neulander.
Intergalactic Nemesis is presented in partnership with the Comic Book Shop of Wilmington.
