Georgetown, DE- A crash this morning on Seashore Highway left one dead and one injured.
The incident occurred o June 14 at 11:08 a.m. as a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, operated by a 78-year-old Maryland man, traveled eastward on Seashore Highway.
For an unknown reason, the Rodeo crossed into oncoming traffic, striking a westbound 2006 GMC Sierra operated by Thomas D. Slaughter, 65, of Bridgeville. Both vehicles came to rest on Seashore Highway, east of Marsh Road.
The driver of the Rodeo was pronounced dead at the scene. Slaughter was transported to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the crash.
Seashore Highway was closed for approximately three hours as Troopers investigating and cleared the crash. The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation.
