Not long ago, these words flowed from my being: don’t be afraid of the dark. Stop trying to play it safe. Don’t fear to rock the boat. It’s ok to go against the current. Don’t fear what others may say. Then, I was given this analogy: “Imagine if the seed refused to go into the earth because it was afraid of the dark, it would not produce fruit. But there it goes courageously waiting for the spark of light to sprout.
It takes courage to trust. It takes faith to believe. The temptation is to make us think that we lack something we already possess. “If you do this, I will give you that” Wasn’t this the trick the adversary used in the wilderness against Jesus? (Matthew 4) This ploy only reveals what we already have at our disposal.
But Jesus knew that everything the Father has belongs to Him. It is also the case with us.. Our union with God unveils this when we, too, go through a period in the wilderness alone.
Later, I recalled Psalm 23: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…” The word ‘shadow’ echoed. Alas, I will fear no evil because it is only a shadow!
You see? If we focus on the shadows of this earthly realm (and there are too many examples to list) we can fall into states of depression, disappointment and desperation. But we don’t have to live that way. The problem is resolved when we abide in the reality of Christ.
And, when we are told “take off your sandals for the ground that you stand on is holy” (Exodus 3:5) He asks that we remove the shadow that prevents us from seeing that the ground, you and me, are holy for Christ dwells in us. Therefore, there is no need to focus on the shadows, as big and scary as they may be. They will only serve to obstruct our view of reality.
This understanding comes to each at the appointed time. Both darkness and light serve the purposes of God. Remember, light comes out of darkness, when He commands “Let there be light.” (Genesis 1:3) Therefore, if you find yourself surrounded by darkness ask that you may uncover in the light the treasure God has placed deep within you. It is with this gift that you are meant to serve humanity.
Be courageous. Do what you know is right. Walk in faith. Dare to live in truth. Let us make all things new in the higher vibration of light. The old has passed away. Believe it! That is what I intend to do. I hope you are committed too. For, it is time to step away from the shadows.

No hace mucho, me levanté de la cama y fluían de mi ser estas palabras: no tengas miedo de la oscuridad. Deja de tratar de controlar tu vida. Está bien si vas en contra de la corriente. No temas el qué dirán. Después, recibí esta analogía: imagina si la semilla se niega a entrar en la tierra. No produciría frutos. Pero ahí va, valientemente y entre la oscuridad permanece hasta que brota la luz.
Se requiere valentía para poder confiar. Se requiere fe para creer. La tentación es pensar que nos falta algo que ya poseemos. “Si haces esto, te doy lo otro.” ¿No fue este el truco que utilizo el adversario cuando confrontó a Jesús en el desierto? (Mateo 4) Esta táctica solo nos muestra lo que ya tenemos a nuestra disposición.
Jesús sabía que todo lo que el Padre tiene le pertenecía. También, es la realidad en nuestro caso. Nuestra unión con Dios revela esto cuando también pasamos por un periodo en el desierto en soledad.
Luego, recordé el Salmo 23: “Aunque ande en valle de sombra de muerte, no temeré mal alguno…” Hizo eco en mi la palabra ‘sombra.’ ¡Ay, no tengo que temer del mal porque es una sombra nada más!
¿Ves? Si nos enfocamos en las sombras de ese ámbito terrenal (y hay demasiados ejemplos en la lista) podríamos caer en estados de depresión, decepción, y desesperación. Pero no hay que vivir así. La situación se resuelve en la realidad que es el acatamiento en Cristo.
Y cuando se nos dice, “…quitad tu calzado de tus pies, porque el lugar en que estas, tierra santa es” (Éxodo 3:5) te pide que remuevas la sombra que evita que veas que tú eres la tierra santificada pues Cristo habita en ti. Por lo tanto, no hay necesidad de enfocarte en las sombras, sean grandes o que causen mucho miedo. Estas lo único que logran es obstruir tu vista de la realidad.
Este entendimiento viene a cada uno en momentos oportunos. Ambas, la oscuridad y la luz sirven los propósitos de Dios. Recuerda, la luz sale de la oscuridad cuando el dice: “Sea la luz…” (Genesis 1:3) Por tanto, si te encuentras rodeado de la oscuridad, haz tu petición para poder descubrir con la luz el tesoro que Dios ha depositado dentro de tu ser. Es el don con el cual has de servir a la humanidad.
Se valiente. Has lo que es correcto. Camina en la fe. Atrévete a vivir tu verdad. Hagamos todo nuevo con la más alta vibración de la luz. Lo pasado, pasado es. ¡Créalo! Intento cumplir mis responsabilidades hacia mis vecinos y mi Padre Celestial. Espero que tú también estés comprometido. Pues es tiempo de dejar las sombras atrás.
