Due to the expected impact of Hurricane Sandy, all Delaware shellfish growing areas will be closed for harvest effective 12 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, until further notice.
No clams, oysters or any other bivalve molluscan shellfish may be harvested from any Delaware waters at this time.
The closure will not be lifted until the state shellfish authority administered by DNREC has deemed water quality safe for the harvest of shellfish.
