Outwardly, we live in perilous times. There is a constant onslaught of lies, of fearmongering and hatred. Also, we hear empty promises produced in feebleness and trepidation. It is no wonder that the world cannot come together!
According to scriptures, even “…two cannot walk together unless they agree…” much less the whole world! So, we find people at a standstill, stuck in fear. Believing that nothing positive moves forward and that negativity advances continually, they become anxious. “Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression but a good word makes it glad.” Proverbs 12:25
Our focus must be on the pure soul inward part for we cannot achieve unity otherwise. In that state unity comes naturally. It also requires that we serve one another. Unfortunately, many have not understood: “And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your servant.” Matthew 20:27 because the ego hijacks the soul and forces it into protective and pleasurable self-seeking. It forgets that everyone reaps what they sow. Yet God is always in control working out His purpose. “…all things work out for good…according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
This was the case with Joseph, the son of Jacob, who after many trials realized that everything that happened to him was by God’s design. He told his brothers, “So now it was not you who sent me here, but God and He has made me a father to Pharaoh and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.” (Genesis 44:8) ‘Egypt’ is, figuratively speaking, the place where we initiate the lessons that our soul needs. Joseph’s actions had ‘global’ impact.
And here is a much recent case of ‘global’ impact. God inspires DJ Master KG and his sister Nomcebo from South Africa to write a spiritual song titled ‘Jerusalema,’ This happens towards the end of 2019. God’s timing is always right! By mid 2020, the song goes viral. It serves to console and refocus people amid the devastating effects of the global pandemic.
For a moment people forget their anguish and choose joy. For a time, the world has reason to dance and to connect to love. You can find the song on YouTube. Part of the lyrics ‘Jerusalem is my home, guard me, walk with me, do not leave me here…” sung by Nomcebo. It brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it. I am sure I am not alone.
It was a reminder that we are all children of God, and that Jerusalem (God of Peace) is our home.
Yes, we suffer, and it is pain that we rarely choose but suffering is never in vain! It leads to growth! Hence, Jesus shows the example at Gethsemane: “…not my will but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42) When we align to God’s will, we elevate life! And being centered in Him allows us to experience quietness of soul.

La Tranquilidad del Alma

Exteriormente vivimos en tiempos peligrosos. Hay una avalancha constante de mentiras, de alarmismo y odio. Además, escuchamos promesas vacías producidas en la debilidad y la inquietud. ¡No es de extrañar que el mundo no pueda unirse!
Según las Escrituras, incluso “… dos no pueden caminar juntos a menos que estén de acuerdo…” ¡y mucho menos el mundo entero! Entonces, encontramos a la gente entumecidas, atrapada en el miedo. Se ponen ansiosos pues creen que nada positivo prospera y que la negatividad avanza continuamente. “La ansiedad en el corazón del hombre causa depresión, pero una buena palabra lo alegra”. Proverbios 12:25
Nuestro enfoque debe ser hacia el interior del alma pura porque la unión no se logra de otra manera. Ahí la unión surge naturalmente. También requiere que estemos dispuestos a servirnos los unos a los otros. Desafortunadamente, muchos no entienden: “Y quien desee ser el primero entre ustedes, que sea su siervo”. Mateo 20:27 porque el ego secuestra el alma y la obliga a protegerse y complacerse a sí misma. Olvida que cada uno cosecha lo que siembra. Sin embargo, Dios siempre tiene el control de llevar a cabo Su propósito. “… todas las cosas funcionan para bien… de acuerdo con Su propósito.” (Romanos 8:28)
Este fue el caso de José, el hijo de Jacob, quien después de muchas pruebas se dio cuenta de que todo lo que le sucedió fue por el diseño de Dios. Le dijo a sus hermanos: “Así que ahora no fueron ustedes quienes me enviaron aquí, sino Dios y Él me ha hecho padre del Faraón y gobernante en toda la tierra de Egipto”. (Génesis 44:8) ‘Egipto’ es, en sentido figurado, el lugar donde iniciamos las lecciones que nuestra alma necesita. Las acciones de José tuvieron un impacto “global”.
Y he aquí un caso más reciente con impacto global. Dios inspira a DJ Máster KG y su hermana Nomcebo de Sudáfrica a escribir una canción espiritual titulada ‘Jerusalema.’ Esto sucede hacia finales del 2019. ¡El tiempo de Dios siempre es perfecto! A mediados del 2020, la canción se vuelve viral sirviendo de consuelo y reenfoque en medio de los efectos devastadores de la pandemia mundial.
Por un momento la gente olvida su angustia y elige el gozo. Durante un tiempo, el mundo tiene razones para bailar y conectarse con el amor. Puedes encontrar la canción en YouTube. Parte de los versos dice, ‘Jerusalén es mi hogar, protégeme, camina conmigo, no me dejes aquí…” Llore la primera vez que escuche la canción. Y estoy segura de que otras personas tuvieron reacciones similares. Fue un recordatorio de que todos somos hijos de Dios, y que Jerusalén (Dios de Paz) es nuestro hogar.
¡Sí, sufrimos, y es dolor que raramente elegimos, pero el sufrimiento nunca es en vano! ¡Nos conduce al crecimiento! Por lo tanto, Jesús muestra el ejemplo en Getsemaní: “…no se haga mi voluntad sino la TUYA…” (Lucas 22:42) ¡Cuando nos alineamos a la voluntad de Dios, elevamos la vida! Y el estar centrados en Él nos permite experimentar la tranquilidad del alma.
