Resilience. Strength. Sacrifice.

Those are the values that we honor every Memorial Day. We remember the men and women of our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our country and our way of life. We say their names. We pray for their eternal rest. And we comfort our Gold Star families who live with that loss every day.

This past year, the rest of the country got a glimpse of what it really means to live out those values. The values that our men and women in uniform live out every day. We could not have made it through this pandemic if it weren’t for the sacrifices, large and small, of every Delawarean and American.

This Memorial Day, we are called to remember, to reflect, and to live together in a way that honors the fallen men and women of our armed services.
