PHILADELPHIA, January 26, 2009– The deadline for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC®)/Scholars® and the RMHC®/HACER® scholarship applications has been extended to February 15, 2009. Fifteen (15) total scholarships are awarded to high school seniors throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region for each program, two (2) at $5,000 and thirteen (13) at $1,000.

Ronald McDonald House Charities offers college scholarships to all high school seniors who demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement, financial need and plan on attending a two or four-year college during the next academic year. To be eligible, students must reside or attend school in Southeastern PA, Southern New Jersey, or Kent or New Castle counties in Delaware.

Applications are available in high school guidance offices and on @link href=’http://www.mcstate.com’target=”_blank”>www.mcstate.com/link and must be completed and postmarked by no later than February 15, 2009.
