Nanticoke Memorial Hospital is a 99-bed acute care facility and is the only hospital in Delaware and Maryland to be nationally recognized by Healthgrades with the Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ and the Patient Safety Excellence Award™.
Mr. Rose believes quality is something that every patient should expect. “Nanticoke is among the highest quality care in Delaware as evidenced by Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores (federal quality guidelines) and many other independent organizations measuring patient outcomes across the nation, placing Nanticoke among top quality hospitals,” said Mr. Rose. “I continue to be extremely proud of the dedication, compassion and commitment of the Nanticoke team to our patients and our community.”
Under Mr. Rose’s leadership, the Nanticoke Physician Network has grown from 7 to over 60 employed physicians and nurse practitioners since 2008. The Network is accredited at the highest level by the National Council for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient Centered Medical Home.
Mr. Rose readily regularly credits his Board of Directors, medical staff, employees and the commitment of the entire Nanticoke team for the success Nanticoke has experienced over the past few years. “The team at Nanticoke is strong. It is through their great work that Nanticoke continues to grow as a high quality, award winning organization,” said Mr. Rose. “The team continues to stay focused, dedicated to the mission of service to our community.”
Mr. Rose is a member of the Delaware Hospital Association Board of Directors and served as Board Chair for two years. He was a member of the American Hospital Association (AHA) Board of Directors, the first Delawarean to do so in the AHA’s 118 year history. He also chaired the AHA’s Region 3 Policy Board. He is currently on the board of managers for eBrightHealth and served as the very first Chairman. He also sits on the boards of Nanticoke Surgical Center and Peninsula Home Health.
Mr. Rose earned his Bachelors of Nursing degree at Penn State University on an Army scholarship. After graduation he served his active duty assignment at West Point Military Academy in New York. He returned to Penn State for a Masters in Nursing degree to become a Nurse Practitioner. He also has a post-masters certificate in Healthcare Administration from Villanova University.
Mr. Rose served a total of 30 years in the Army and Pennsylvania Army National Guard. His last position was Executive Officer of the Medical Detachment for the State Area Command. He retired as Lieutenant Colonel.
He and his wife, Rosie, reside in Bridgeville, Delaware. They have 7 children and 7 grandchildren.
