Senate bill to review the regional greenhouse gas initiative
Due to an op-ed written by Dave Stevenson ("Failed Cap and Trade Program About to Get Worse", first published March 4 in The News Journal) , a bill titled SB 34, "An Act to Amend Title 7 of the Delaware Code Relating to the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI)":has been introduced in the Senate.
The act will call for a Joint Resolution in the General Assembly for any major changes to the RGGI Program or its standards.

Delaware farmers’ markets, which were started as a statewide program in 2005, are open during the spring and summer offering fresh Delaware produce and other products as they come into season. The Milton Farmers’ Market usually kick off the season on or about April 19, with other markets opening later—13 in May, nine in June and one in July.

On Saturday, March 30th, Mayor Williams and De-Lead will present the 1st Annual Community Children’s Easter Egg Hunt for children 10 years of age or younger.

Status Update – Wednesday Evening March 6
The storm that dumped heavy amounts of snow in some nearby states roared into Delaware today, bringing rain that was heavy at time, and high winds. The combination of precipitation, wind, and tides brought some flooding to coastal areas of the state.
As early as Tuesday afternoon, state and county emergency agencies were urging residents in areas that experience flooding during coastal storms to begin moving to higher ground. Residents of Flood-Prone Areas Advised to Move to Safer Areas
Officials at the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA), along with officials in New Castle, Kent and Sussex Counties, continue to strongly urge residents in flood-prone areas of the state to make a move to relocate to safer areas inland before tides and flooding cut off exit routes.
Evacuations have not been ordered, but residents in areas that experience flooding during coastal storms should begin moving to higher ground while exit routes are open and before the most severe storm conditions occur. Route 1 from Bethany Beach to Dewey Beach closed
Delaware Department of Transportation officials report Route 1 from Dewey Beach to Bethany Beach is closed due to water washing over the road.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the Indian River Inlet Bridge are also closed due to water washover at the base of the bridge.
It hasn't been reported damage to the structure.

DelDOT is advising residents of Prime Hook that access from their community to the mainland is available now via Prime Hook Road, but this condition will change as the tide rises and the storm intensifies. High tide is about 4:30 p.m..
A temporary connection to North Bay Shore Drive while be opened later today until daylight ends at 7 p.m. This connection could close sooner, however, should flood conditions require it, so residents remaining in the area should leave via Prime Hook Road now.
