Delaware Tech students receive national honor award
Georgetown –Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) students Joyce Hastings, of Lewes, and Zackary Hurley, of Delmar, received National Student Honor Awards from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
These honors, awarded every year, are based on academic achievement, leadership ability, community activities, professional goals, and endorsements from faculty and community leaders.

Two new Delaware State University board of trustees members appointed
DOVER, Del. – Delaware State University’s Board of Trustees is now at full strength with two recent appointments to its body.
Delaware Gov. Jack Markell announced Jan. 11 that he has appointed Lois Hobbs, a former superintendent of the Indian River School District in Lower Delaware, to the board to finish the six-year term of Willa Mae Jordan, who resigned in April. The term will be complete on Jan. 11, 2011.

In early May Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus held its 30th annual Student Awards Program.
An Outstanding Student Award is presented each year to one student from each associate degree or diploma curriculum.
The selections for these awards are based on academic excellence, relationships with peers and staff, and other campus/community service contributions.
During her congratulations to the students, Dr. Ileana M. Smith, vice president and Owens Campus director, noted that “… the faculty bestows this honor with a great deal of pride and respect.”

Delaware Tech announces senior art exhibit winners
Georgetown- The 20th annual Statewide Senior Art Exhibit concluded on Thursday, June 4 with a luncheon and awards ceremony at Delaware Technical & Community College, Owens Campus.
The event, sponsored by the college’s Adult Plus+ program and the Delaware Association of Programs for the Aging, features artwork in various mediums by local artists age 55 and up.
