Friends and neighbors,

I am writing to express my support for the reelection of U.S. Sen. Chris Coons. Sen. Coons has relentlessly fought for the best interest of all Delawareans while remaining steadfast in his commitment to Democratic values. Sen. Coons is one of the most thoughtful and pragmatic elected officials I have ever worked with, and I am proud to offer this endorsement of his candidacy.

Most recently, Sen. Coons has been hard at work to make sure that our state had the resources we needed to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. He fought to make sure that small businesses received the assistance they needed to stay afloat, and our frontline healthcare workers had the equipment and resources they needed to stay safe while fighting the pandemic. As a state legislative leader, I could not ask for a better partner in the federal government. He has kept state leaders informed of federal response efforts related to COVID-19 and is always willing to help my constituents navigate issues with federal agencies.

As part of his commitment to the values of the Democratic Party, Sen. Coons is dedicated to supporting and rebuilding this country’s middle class. Ensuring that each family has the opportunity to achieve the American dream means making sure that they have access to critical social services like healthcare and retirement savings, which Sen. Coons has fought hard to protect. I have full faith that he will continue to prioritize increasing economic opportunity for all.

We are at a critical point in our nation’s history, and I firmly believe that Sen. Coons is the right person to represent Delaware in the United States Senate at this time. He has been a leading voice nationally on issues of social justice, including racial equality and voting rights. I am confident he will work hard to protect our democracy and the civil rights of all people. I encourage voters to choose Sen. Coons in the September 15 primary.

Sincerely,
Nicole Poore
Majority Leader
State Senator, 12th District
