State of Emergency has been lifted in all 3 counties

Governor Jack Markell has lifted the State of Emergency and Level 1 Driving Warning in Kent County as of 6pm and Sussex County as of 8pm. The State of Emergency and Level 1 Driving Warning was lifted at 2pm today in New Castle County.

Tonight will bring near-record cold weather into the area, and temperatures in northern and central portions of the state could be in the single digits tonight and overnight, but slightly higher in the southern portion of Delaware
Road and weather conditions vary, with ice covered by snow in many areas. Roads across the state are slippery.

Delaware State Police report many roads in New Castle County are wet and passable. In Kent County, roads are partially snow covered. DelDOT continues plowing roads in Sussex County where it is still snowing. Motorists should use extreme caution.

Public schools in New Castle County will open two hours late on Tuesday, March 4th. no announcement has been made for public school districts in Kent and Sussex Counties at this time.
