Governor Markell has lifted the State of Emergency for Kent and Sussex counties as of 8 p.m. Monday, and state government will be open in all three counties on Tuesday.
Drivers are warned that some roads remain snow covered, have icy patches and/or are not passable. Some suburban and rural roads, especially in Sussex County, have not yet been plowed and are dangerous to drive on. The lifting of this order is not a substitute for good judgment by individuals and businesses, and travel in areas with poor road conditions should be kept to a minimum.
Even with the end of the State of Emergency, plowing by DelDOT, transport and emergency missions by the National Guard, shelters by the America Red Cross , and power restoration by utility companies will continue.
