Join the Delaware Choral Society for their fall concert where they’ll present Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio”.
The concert will take place at the new Wyoming United Methodist Church in Dover, on December 6th, at 3:00p.m.
This beautiful music tells the story of Christmas through a series of cantatas and will feature nearly 100 musicians from our area coming together under the musical direction of Mr. Kevin Thomas.
This is the first time the Delaware Choral Society will have performed the “Christmas Oratorio” in over 25 years and is proud to present the work with a 24-piece orchestra, 70-voice choir and 4 soloists.
Masters of baroque repertoire and interpretation, the concert will feature soloists John Wesley Wright (Tenor), James Weaver (Bass), Christopher Berg (Countertenor) and Soo Young Chrisfield (Soprano).
In an effort to maintain the cultural integrity of the oratorio, the concert will be performed in its original German language with English translations made available via overhead media projection.
Tickets are $15.00 for general admission; $12.00 for seniors (55 and over) and $7.00 for students with several ways to purchase or reserve tickets for the upcoming concerts.
