Delawareans have until Sunday to sign up for 2015 health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Enrollment-assistance specialists will be available at the locations below. Help is free, and no appointment is needed. For updated hours and locations go to www.ChooseHealthDE.com. You can also enroll directly at www.HealthCare.gov.

To enroll, bring birthdates and Social Security numbers of those applying for coverage; paystubs, W-2 forms, or other information about your family’s income; policy/member numbers for current health coverage; and information about job-related health coverage available to you or your family.

If you prefer to schedule an appointment, contact a Marketplace Guide by visiting www.ChooseHealthDE.com. Information is also available at the federal 24/7 helpline, 1-800-318-2596, TTY: 1-855-889-4325, and at www.HealthCare.gov.

Agents and brokers can also help you enroll; go to ChooseHealthDE.com for a list.

Residents who are not exempt and do not buy insurance for 2015 could face penalties of $325 per adult (plus $162.50 for each child not covered) or 2 percent of their household income, whichever is higher. The penalty will be assessed when they file their 2015 taxes next year.
Federal financial assistance has helped lower the cost of coverage for 83 percent of Delawareans. The average monthly premium after tax credits in Delaware is $146.
