Sussex Academy High School to present ABBA jukebox musical Mamma Mia April 28 & 29
Sussex Academy High School is set to present the hit ABBA musical Mamma Mia on Friday, April 28th at 7pm and Saturday, April 29th at 2pm and 7pm.
ABBA’s hits tell the invigorating story of a young woman’s search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter’s quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother’s past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago. The story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you’ll never forget!
The cast stars senior Haley Cummins as Donna Sheridan and sophomore Alex DeEmedio as Sophie, her daughter with junior Nate Nagy playing Sky (Sophie’s fiance). Donna’s Dynamo trio is rounded out with freshman Abby Whitcomb as Tanya and sophomore Elaina Marsch as Rosie. Senior Jackson Whitcomb, junior Aidan French, and sophomore Aidan Wiggins play Sophie’s three possible fathers. Twenty-four other high school students complete the cast.
Tickets for Mamma Mia are $10 for adults and $5 for students and may be purchased at the door or online at showtix4u.com. There will be an intermission at which snacks and concessions will be sold. Sussex Academy is located at 21150 Airport Road, Georgetown.
