Sussex Academy Hosts Exchange Students and Teachers from Italy


(Georgetown) Sussex Academy hosted 12 high school students and two teachers from Liceo Scientifico F. Ribezzo in Francavilla Fontana, which is located in the Puglia region of southern Italy.

The students stayed with Sussex Academy families while the teachers were guests of Mr. Eric M. Anderson, Head of School and Sara Messina, IB Social Studies Teacher. During their two-week visit, the exchange students attended classes with their host students and the teachers took advantage of the opportunity to observe teachers in all subjects.

The exchange group also participated in fun activities including group trips to Washington, DC and New York, New York. Some of their local activities included bowling at Lefty’s Alley and Eats, eating sushi at the Cultured Pearl, and spending an evening at Schellville and Winter Wonderfest.

The Sussex Academy hosts will visit their exchange families in Italy for two weeks in April.

Sussex Academy is a public charter, tuition free, school. Centrally located in Georgetown, the school serves grades 6-12.
