Sussex County government is cleaning house and ready to make a deal.

The County will hold an in-house auction of surplus equipment on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center parking lot, 21911 Rudder Lane, near Georgetown. The auction will begin at noon; however, potential buyers can inspect vehicles and equipment beginning at 10 a.m. on that date.

An assortment of cars, trucks, and generator parts that have been declared surplus or no longer suitable for the County’s operational needs will be featured during the auction, the first large-scale event since the County’s last auction in March 2010. At auction will be 15 cars and trucks, including Chevrolet, Ford, Jeep and Dodge vehicles, as well as eight generator units. The majority of the vehicles range from 1995 to 2003 model years, and have a mileage range between 90,000 and 240,000 miles. A list of items for auction can be found on the County’s website at http://www.sussexcountyde.gov

Items sold to the highest bidders will be sold in “as in” condition with no guarantee or warranty. Only cash or certified checks, due in full the day of sale, will be accepted. All proceeds from the sale will be deposited into the County’s general fund.
