‘Train up a child in the way he
should go and when he is old, he
will not depart from it.’ (Proverbs
22:6) This scripture is familiar to many
but the deeper meaning of it is not clear to
all. Perhaps it is because many interpret it
simply as parents teaching children to learn
what they learned and do what they did/or
continue to do. But what if parents unknowingly
learned in error? Worse yet, what if
parents’ actions do not match their words?
Then, the results will be children far away
from their call to abundant life.
I checked the original scripture to learn
which word from the Hebrew is translated
into ‘train’. I discovered that it’s the word
‘Chanak’-meaning ‘to dedicate’, ‘to inaugurate.’
The word ‘dedicate’ is synonymous with
‘consecrate’ and ‘inaugurate’ synonymous with
‘uncover’, ‘unveil’. More over the scripture
gives the sense that everyone should follow
the advice to ‘Chanak’. It’s an invitation to
discover that which God has deposited in each
and in turn dedicate it to uplift humanity in
His name. The training is especially meaningful
because it promises fulfillment of life
from childhood to old age.
Do you know what your true God-given
gifts/talents are? Do you know that these
gifts are meant to be for the benefit of all? Is
there someone helping you discover yours
Are you helping children to uncover theirs?
These must be brought to light in order to
develop them. The scripture confirmed what
the Lord had revealed: we each have a purpose
to fulfill in life. Each of us is equipped
with gifts designed to steer us into the good
and glorious work of the kingdom. When we
unveil these gifts we receive blessings, fervor
and peace that allow us to share
more of our lives with others.
From my end, I am committed
to exercise more fully my
purpose with ‘concentration and
consecration.’ What about you?
If you have not done so already,
open your heart to hear the Lord
when He speaks and learn to trust
in the fidelity of His love. “For as
we have many members in one
body, but all the members do
not have the same function; so we, [being]
many, are one body in Christ, and every one
members one of another.’ ‘But now hath
God set the members every one of them in
the body, as it hath pleased him’.
God will instruct us, He will teach us
in the way that we should go and while we
are learning from Him we will be in a better
position to train up a child (including the
inner child) in the way that he should go.
Therefore, “Hear instruction, and be wise,
and refuse it not.”
(Scriptures Proverbs 22:6. Romans 12:4,1 Corinthians 12:18; Proverbs 8:33)

Instruye al niño en su camino
y aún cuando fuere viejo no se
apartará de él.’ (Proverbios 22:6).
Esta escritura es conocida por muchos
pero no todos tienen claro su significado
profundo. Quizás es porque muchos la
interpretan simplemente como padres
enseñando a los niños lo que ellos aprendieron
y a hacer lo que ellos hicieron o
continúan haciendo. ¿Y qué tal si los padres,
sin saberlo, aprendieron cosas erróneas?
Peor aún, ¿qué tal si las acciones de
los padres no están a la altura
de sus palabras? Entonces los
resultados serán niños alejados
de su llamado a la vida
abundante.
Investigué la escritura original
para aprender qué palabra
en el Hebreo es traducida
como ‘instruye’. Descubrí que
es la palabra ‘Chanak’ y esta
palabra significa ‘dedicar’ ,
‘inaugurar.’ Más allá, la palabra ‘dedicar’
es sinónimo de ‘consagrar;’ y la palabra
‘inagurar’ sinónimo de ‘descubrir’, ‘destapar.’
Por tanto, la escritura nos da el
sentido de que todos deben seguir ese
consejo de ‘Chanak’. Es una invitación a
descubir aquéllo que Dios ha depositado
en cada uno y a cambio dedicarlo a la edificación
de la humanidad en Su nombre. La
instrucción es especialmente significativa
porque promete plenitud en nuestras vida
desde la niñez a la vejez.
¿Sabes tú cuáles son los dones/talentos
que te ha dado Dios? ¿Sabes que estos
dones deben usarse para el beneficio de
todos? ¿Hay alguien que te está ayudando
a descubrirlos? ¿Estás ayudando a los
niños a descubrir los suyos? Estos deben
ser traídos a la luz para poder ser desarrollados.
Esa escritura da confirmación a lo
que había revelado el Señor: cada uno de
nosotros tiene un propósito que cumplir
en la vida. Cada uno está dotado con dones
diseñados a guiarnos hacia la buena y
gloriosa labor del reino. Cuando descubrimos
estos dones recibimos bendiciones,
fervor y paz que nos permiten compartir
más de nuestras vidas con otros.
Por mi parte, estoy comprometida a
vivir más completamente mi propósito con
‘concentración y consagración.’ ¿Y qué tal
usted? Si no lo ha hecho ya, abra su corazón
para que escuche al Señor cuando le hable
y aprenda a confiar en la fidelidad de su
amor. Más aún “porque de la manera que
en cuerpo tenemos muchos miembros pero
no todos los miembros tienen la misma
función así nosotros siendo muchos somos
un cuerpo en Cristo y todos miembros los
unos de los otros.” “Más ahora Dios ha
colocado los miembros cada uno de ellos
en el cuerpo como El quiso.”
Dios nos instruye, nos enseña su sendero
a caminar y mientras aprendamos de
Él estaremos en una posición tanto mejor
de instruir al niño (incluyendo el niño interior)
en el camino que ha de seguir. Por
tanto “Atended el consejo, y sed sabios, Y
no lo menospreciéis”.
