Troopers investigate robbery of Newport Pike restaurant
The initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred at approximately 8:40 p.m. Saturday October 4, 2014, as a male suspect entered the restaurant located at 800 West Newport Pike. The suspect brandished unknown type of handgun and confronted two female employees demanding cash from the register. The victims complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of currency before the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction with the money. There were no injuries as a result of this incident.
The suspect is described as an unknown male wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and jeans with a mask covering his face (no further physical or clothing description available), armed with an unknown type of handgun.
There is no video surveillance footage of this incident to release at this time.
